My girlfriend and I have been doing some shopping while on vacation here in the states; hitting /a lot/ of garage sales. I didn't think about it before but will we need reciepts for these things when crossing back? Thanks!

I'm getting ready to go back to Canada and apply for PR. Is this what I tell the border guard when I get there? That I plan to stay until my PR is accepted? What should I bring with me to show I am prepared for the stay? Bank statement showing I have enough money for the stay? What else?
